Practitioner - Andrew Murray, Osteopath, Acupuncture & Naturopathy
Andrew initially trained and qualified in 1988 as a registered general nurse, through the Oldham School of Nursing. Although he enjoyed nursing enormously he wasn't happy with the direction the profession was heading. In 1990 after speaking to an Osteopath, who had also trained as a Naturopath, Andrew realised that this was the path he had been looking for. He started training in the October of 1990 at the British College of Naturopathy and Osteopathy, 2 years later transferring to the College of Osteopaths. In 1995 he qualified as a Naturopath and passed his final Osteopathic examinations and was awarded a licence to practice, finally getting his full diploma in 1997 after completing his thesis.
During 1997 Andrew worked for the Complementary Therapy Unit at Tameside Hospital. In 1997 he started working from the Markland Complementary Therapy Centre at Westhoughton, where he has built a successful business. In 2003 Andrew was asked to practice at the Natural Therapy Clinic in Atherton after the Osteopath who was based there, retired due to ill health. In 2005 the two Clinics were amalgamated at the Westhoughton site. Andrew was also involved with the initial 'Body Electronics Group' which was started in the North of England. In 2000 it became Law to be on the General Register of Osteopaths, if you wanted to practice as an Osteopath, Andrew duly joined.
Andrew had also been training as an acupuncturist at the Liverpool John Moores University During 2009/10.
